Story

The story of Issaq revolves around the two lovers who are born to hate each other as their families are arch rivals of each other. Progressing as how they eventually fall in love with each other, the plot is set in the background of Varanasi as story on the banks of the Ganges and revered as holy in Hinduism. This story based on Shakespeare's play Romeo- Juliet
By the looks of it, the movie is already garnering a lot of attention and is one to be watched out for. A modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Issaq released on 26th July 2013

Marketing

The film was promoted in TV serial Amita Ka Amit.^[3][4] The producers promoted the movie through Banarasi paan at the leading malls in Mumbai^[5]

Going by the trend, there are duet versions and unplugged versions of Issaq Tera, Jheeni re Jheeni and Aag ka Dariya. ^[6]

Critical Response

The movie opened to mixed reviews all over. Avad M of Bollywood3 credited lead actress Amyra Dastur as very promising and also stated that she not only looks beautiful but has also decent acting skills. ^[7] The average audience rating on Desimartini was 2.2/5 stars the weekend after its release. The average critic rating being even lower at 1.5/5 stars. The verdict of the film was " Issaq is a shoddy adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. Good visuals don't make up for a badly executed film with uninspired performances. Skip it."^[8]
